ABOUT ME
Best known for my 13 years as Collections Manager and Mount Maker at the ASU FIDM Museum, I am an artist constantly exploring and expanding my creative process. In addition to creating the paper wigs, flowers, and mixed-media headpieces featured in many FIDM exhibitions, I am also a sculptor, woodworker, and seamstress. Originally from a small mountain town in Washington, I moved to Los Angeles after high school to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, now ASU FIDM.
My love of history eventually led me to study theater costume design, and after graduating I was invited back to the museum to create mounts for the exhibition High Style: Betsy Bloomingdale and the Haute Couture, where I designed 81 custom invisible mounts. Over the years, I have created countless mounts while continuing to advance my skills in historical dressing, exhibition preparation, and conservation-focused display techniques. Alongside mount making, I worked closely with collections care, storage, and organization, while also leading tours and teaching classes. With a continued desire to grow creatively and professionally, I transitioned into freelance work, opening my skills and experience to the wider museum world where I continue my work today.
